South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity said on June 19 that a donors? conference in Brussels to raise funds for the conflict zone?s rehabilitation projects was a ?serious and credible step? towards international recognition of South Ossetia, the unrecognized republic?s Press and Information Committee reported.
Kokoity said while meeting the government members of the unrecognized republic, that summit of the South Ossetian, Abkhaz and Transdnestrian leaders in Sokhumi on June 13-14 was yet another important event aimed at international recognition of these breakaway regions
