PM Accuses Peacekeepers of Inaction

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli said that the Russian peacekeeping troops stationed in the South Ossetian conflict zone are ?inactive,? resulting in the peace process coming to a standstill.

The Prime Minister said that an illegal armament still remains in the conflict zone, which confirms that the Russian peacekeepers are failing to perform their functions.

?The peacekeeping forces are absolutely inactive in performing their functions under their mandate. It is clear to everyone that, in spite of our efforts, the peacekeeping process has come to a standstill,? Nogaideli told reporters after the government session on January 18.
