Russia Stops Issuing Pensions for Non-Russian Citizens in Abkhazia

Russia has stopped issuing pensions starting from January for those residents of Abkhazia who have not yet obtained Russian passports, Apsnipress news agency reported on January 12, quoting Labor and Social Minister of breakaway Abkhazia Olga Koltukova.


The number of those Abkhaz pensioners who have not obtained Russian passports was not indicated in this report, but the breakaway region?s Vice-Premier Leonid Lakerbaia said last November that the number totals 2,027 people.
