Nogaideli, Lavrov Focus on Conflict Resolution Issues

Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli, who is currently visiting the Russian capital Moscow, held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sideline of the Summit of Heads of Governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on November 25.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the issue of bilateral cooperation, as well as the situation regarding the Commonwealth of Independent States was discussed during the talks.

Nogaideli and Lavrov ?stressed the necessity to solve these problems solely through peaceful means, through political dialogue with the use of the existing negotiating and peacekeeping formats,? according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

But after the talks the Georgian PM reiterated that the Georgian side wants the current negotiating format in South Ossetia to be changed.
