The National Bank of breakaway South Ossetia has launched foreign currency accounts, enabling financial transactions in USD and Euro possible, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported on November 17.
The Russian Ruble is the currency in circulation in the unrecognized republic.
According to Givi Sanakoev, the Director of the breakaway region?s National Bank, transactions will be carried out through Russia?s North Ossetian bank located in Vladikavkaz.
