President of breakaway Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh arrived in the South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali on Monday to participate in celebrations dedicated to the “independence day” of South Ossetia, which will be held on September 19-20.
Abkhaz Foreign Minister Sergey Shamba and Defense Minister Sultan Soslaniev are accompanying the Abkhaz leader.
Sergey Bagapsh and President of the unrecognized South Ossetian Republic Eduard Kokoity have already signed a bilateral agreement on political, economic and cultural cooperation between South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
Delegations from breakaway Transdnestria and Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as a group of Russian parliamentarians and Leader of Russia’s North Ossetian Republic have also arrived in Tskhinvali, according to the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee.
