Russia Prepares Tank Repair Factory for Hand-Over

Officials from the Georgian and Russian Defense Ministries are conducting inventorying of assets of the Russian 142nd Armor Tank Repair Factory in Tbilisi, in an attempt to prepare factory for a hand-over to the Georgian side.

The process of hand-over should be completed before June 15, as envisaged by the joint declaration of the Russian and Georgian Foreign Ministers signed in Moscow on May 30.

The 142nd Armor/Tank Repair Factory, which was built in 1942, was the only factory of this kind in the South Caucasus. But it has stopped operation two years ago.
