President Warns of Destabilization Attempts by ‘External Forces’

President Saakashvili said on April 13, while meeting with Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili and Prosecutor General Zurab Adeishvili, that the law enforcers should “improve counter-intelligence activities,” as the threat of destabilization and the provocation of conflicts “by external forces” is ever-present, the President’s press office reported.

“I know very well that a huge inflow of funds [from abroad] is anticipated in the Georgian political sphere in the coming months. And I want to warn those politicians who may accept this money – the Georgian law prohibits it,” President Saakashvili said.
