Experts, Officials Discuss Anti-Torture Policy

The key government officials and foreign experts would discuss the implementation of Georgia’s National Action Plan Against Torture on April 12, in an event organized by the OSCE Mission to Georgia.

The event is part of the Mission’s range of anti-torture initiatives and activities and the Action Plan for 2003-2005, which was originally developed by the National Security Council of Georgia with help from the Mission and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the OSCE Mission to Georgia reported.

“This conference should help Georgia implement more effectively the National Action Plan, and with it the international standards against torture,” said the Head of the OSCE Mission, Ambassador Roy Reeve.
