?Very often the criminals wishing to avoid prosecution, try to become the parliament members to enjoy the MP immunity. To avoid such cases, we should cancel the immunity and restrict existing privileges for the legislators,? Levan Mamaladze, one of the leaders of the pro-presidential election bloc For New Georgia, said at a news briefing on October 27.
He called on the political parties to raise this issue at the very first session of the new Parliament and adopt the relevant legislation.
