Armenia Ratified Agreement on Cooperation with Georgia

(Tbilisi, September 10, 2003, Civil Georgia) – The Parliament of Armenia ratified today an inter-state agreement with Georgia ?On Friendship, Cooperation and Security.?

The Russian news agency RIA Novosti quoted the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Tatul Markaryan, who said that according to the document signed on 23 October 2001 in Yerevan, both sides have expressed a readiness to promote peace and settle the conflicts in the region.

The Georgian and Armenian sides also pledge to avoid any actions against each other, and to reject the formation of any groups and organizations on their territories that coul!
d pose a threat to the other country?s security.

The agreement also envisages economic and humanitarian cooperation.
