Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Visits Iran

(Tbilisi, July 17, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Kakha Sikharulidze, who pays official visit to Iran, met with the Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi on July 16.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry reported that Kamal Kharrazi expressed satisfaction with the opportunity for closer cooperation with Georgia.

He also said that further efforts are required to boost economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries.

Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister said that two countries have the potentials for cooperation in various cultural fields.

Recently Georgian State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania visited Iran. With Iranian Presidential Advisor and Secretary-General of Anti-Drug Headquarter Ali Hashemi Georgian security chief discussed bilateral measures to improve efforts to combat drug trafficking.
