Protest of the Former Police Colonel

(Tbilisi, May 6, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Temur Jibladze, former member of the board of trustees of the Vake Park company and former colonel of the Police, cuffed himself to the fence at the State Chancellery building, protesting against privatization of the Vake public park territory.

 Jibladze accused mayor Vano Zodelava and chairman of the City Council (Sakrebulo) Mikheil Saakashvili for allowing privatization of the park’s territory.

Jibladze claimed that he has been dismissed from the board of trustees after he went against the privatization.

Jibladze’s protest action was supported by the representatives of the Labor faction of the City Council.
