UN Mission Confirms Grounding of a Helicopter

UN mission in Georgia confirmed information about grounding helicopter of UN observers  with a missile today near Amtkeli village, Abkhazia. There were 5 passengers in the helicopter, 3 of which were the crew  members. The UN mission office has no information about the exact number of victims. According to self-declared government of Abkhazia, three passengers have died, UN observers among them.

Abkhazians blame Chechen-Georgian group of fighters in the incident. Georgians, on the other hand, deny the blame and accuse Abkhazians.

UN observers were to initiate the monitoring of Kodori gorge.
