Annual Inflation 13.9% in March

Georgia’s annual inflation rose to 13.9% in March from 12.7% in January, the Georgian state statistics office, Geostat, said on Friday.

Prices on food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 28.8% year-on-year making its share in total annual inflation in March 11.9%, according to Geostat.

There was a significant price hike on fruits (65.5% y/y), vegetables (41.1% y/y), bread and other wheat-containing products (25% y/y) and meat (21.8% y/y).

Fuel prices went up by 24.8% in March y/y, according to Geostat.
